November 2017

It's said that if a friendship lasts more than seven years, it will probably be a lifelong friendship. Rachel is one of those gems in my life. She has more life and love and energy within her petite frame than anyone I have ever met. We met about 20 years ago, went through high school, she spent a semester of college in Charleston with me, and then she lived in Charleston awhile after graduation. We have seen each other through a lot of life's adventures -

love, loss, tragedies and victories.

When I found out she was engaged, my husband and I wanted to go celebrate with her and her wonderful fiance, Mick, so we took a trip to NYC and had a weekend of laughter, reminiscing and building new friendships. Rachel and Mick generously opened their home to us, and the price of our stay was simply engagement photos (which, COME ON! You know I begged to take them!)

This picture perfect couple took us to one of their favorite places within Central Park. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect day to spend photographing one of my dearest friends. The weather cooperated, and their photographs took on a life of their own.

We are so excited to celebrate with them (as guests, not photographers!) in September. Treasure the gems in your life. Friendships like this don't come often, and I will never take this one for granted.
